1. VMM: Projact Manager - Madagascar
The Matitanana River Integrated Water Management Project (MIWM) aims to develop a self-financing and sustainable solution to the problems of supply of water for drinking, sanitation and irrigation for the population living along the south bank of the Matitanana river in south east Madagascar.
The project manager will work in close collaboration with the local land owners association, local government authorities, the Catholic Parish of Vohipeno and grassroots level village organizations and institutions.
* Degree in engineering.
* Additional educational qualifications in water & sanitation management, desirable but not essential.
* Able to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including local institutions, churches and grassroot organizations.
Starting date: Mid 2009
Salary: Volunteer allowance basis
Contract duration: 12 months, renewable for a further 12 months

2. VMM: Project Manager – Respond-South Africa
Assist in the organisation, development and support of Respond (Housing Association) projects in South Africa.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team liaising on a daily basis with internal and external clients and agencies.
Build relationships and represent Respond! to various external bodies, groups and agencies. Including community, statutory and private bodies.
Assist in actively seeking funding opportunities.
Develop a programme of support activities including:
- Adult education centre
- Training support centre for orphan children
- Anti-retro viral delivery stations
- Community facilities
- Affordable housing projects
- Social housing projects
A relevant third level qualification in a related discipline, e.g Civil Engineering, is desirable but not essential.
Starting date: Mid 2009
Salary: Volunteer allowance basis
Contract duration: 12 months, renewable for a further 12 months
