Speak Out on Trade Justice!
Are you concerned about global justice? Worried about the impact of the financial crisis on developing countries? Wondering why aid doesn't seem to be making an impact on the economies of the global south? Do you wish you could do something about it, but feel like you just don't know how?
Then our workshop is for you!
Take part in our workshop, a practical training which will prepare you take an active part in an EU wide campaign to get constituents talking to their MEP candidates.
The workshop will particularly focus on the unfair trade deals the EU is trying to negotiate with developing countries and on EU trade policy. (Please don’t be put off by the trade bit – it’s not as complicated as you think!). It will be participatory and interactive, and supported by a beautiful lobby pack with lots more detail and information on the issues involved.

Waterford - 6th May - Immigrant Support Unit (ISU) at Mount Sion - 7.00-9.30pm

About the Workshops:
This practical training will prepare you to take an active part in an EU wide campaign to get constituents talking to their MEP candidates. The forthcoming EU election on 5th June is a key opportunity to ensure that our EU representatives work to bring about an EU which puts sustainable development and global justice at the heart of all of its policies. We need you to join us and put our opposition to Europe’s unfair trade deals on the political agenda and to help bring about a fairer approach to Europe’s trade with poor countries.
But don’t be put off by the trade bit – it’s not as complicated as you think! - and as we’re all experiencing at the moment, global rules (or lack of them) do have a huge influence on our daily lives, and on those living in the poorest countries in the world. The workshop will be participatory and interactive, and supported by a beautiful lobby pack with lots more detail and information on the issues involved. We will particularly focus on EU trade policy, and the unfair trade deals the EU is trying to negotiate with developing countries, while showing you how you can practically engage with and influence your MEP.
Ongoing support will also be provided in the run up to the European elections, and beyond.
