The Matitanana River Integrated Water Management Project (MIWM) aims to develop a self-financing and sustainable solution to the problems of supply of water for drinking, sanitation and irrigation for the population living along the south bank of the Matitanana river in south east Madagascar.

The project manager will work in close collaboration with the local land owners association, local government authorities, the Catholic Parish of Vohipeno and grassroots level village organizations and institutions.

  • Degree in engineering.
  • Additional educational qualifications in water & sanitation management, desirable but not essential.
  • Able to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including local institutions, churches and grassroot organizations.
  • Starting date: Mid 2009
  • Salary: Volunteer allowance basis
  • Contract duration: 12 months, renewable for a further 12 months
