Short-Term Immediate Communications Volunteering Opportunity to
Support Leadership and Enterprise in Zambia!
Are you available now to travel to Zambia for three weeks? Are you interested in supporting
young women’s leadership and enterprise in Africa? Do you have strong communications and
reporting skills?
Camfed International is looking for a volunteer to provide communications support to female
entrepreneurs and their business mentors in Zambia. The role will entail travel within rural Zambia
to support the business mentors as they work with small teams of young women who are
engaged in running a series of newly-established commercial and social impact enterprises.
The volunteer should be prepared to travel almost immediately to Zambia for three weeks and to
work in the rural environment. The volunteer should have strong communications skills which
may have been developed during previous journalistic, policy or advisory roles and should expect
to:
a. Provide daily progress reports from the field to Camfed International on advisory
meetings held that day, topics discussed and actions planned
b. Interview each of the entrepreneur teams about the progress of their enterprises
and create profiles of each of the enterprises (including enterprise idea, key
achievements, challenges experienced and resolved, impact thus far, future
plans)
c. Produce a summary report following the trip highlighting key conclusions and
observations.
The volunteer should be pro-active, positive and flexible. The post is unpaid although Camfed
International will cover appropriate travel, accommodation and living expenses.
