Job Description – Business Manager
The incumbent will be responsible for the overall management of a social enterprise honey business. Duties include:
- Managing a team of up to 15 employees.
- Developing staff skills and leadership capabilities.
- Oversee financial management of the business and ensure fiscal transparency
- Report and maintain good relations with Donors, Board and Manzini Youth Care management.
- Manage and build relationships with buyers, donors and other stakeholders.
- With Field Coordinator grow and secure quality comb honey supply, including building relationships with beekeepers and beekeeping groups
- Developing marketing and sales strategies with clear initiatives to grow sales and promote the brand.
- With Factory Manager oversee the honey production, ensuring quality control and maximising operational efficiency.
- Work with other NGOs, Government of Swaziland and Stakeholders to secure beekeeper financing as well as promote and capacitate beekeeping as an income stream for rural people living in poverty.
- Implement ESK Honey monitoring and evaluation plan.
- Identify and develop commercial bi-product opportunities.
Essential skills include:
At least 5 years business management experience, preferably food related or a relevant business degree.
Excellent communication and people management skills
Proven time management and organizational skills
Proactive work ethic and an ability to find solutions to complex problems
ICT and Internet research skills
Self-motivated and able to deal with the challenges of working and living overseas
Able to present persuasively in English
Desirable skills include:
An understanding of the European and International fair-trade market
2 years food related marketing experience
A proven record of successfully working within a different culture.
Able to present persuasively in SiSwati / Zulu
