Option and Issues in Global Development Course

This workshop provides a chance for those thinking of volunteering for global development to meet with others and consider the options available.  The sessions on will explore development and underdevelopment, the role of the development worker in the context of development aid, types of development and aid agencies, motivations for going overseas, and solidarity work from Ireland.

The workshop is participatory and is designed to explore the issues in a way that will encourage action on development issues from a justice and equality perspective.

Date:  Saturday 31st January 2009, 10am to 4:30pm
Venue:  Galway, One World Centre
Cost:  €25 (members of Comhlámh) / €40 (non-members), €20(students and unwaged), including lunch
