Irish Aid Volunteering and Information Centre

International Service Ireland (ISI) will soon contract four development workers to work closely with the Bolivian Institute of the Blind (IBC) over the next three years (2010-2013). ISI primarily works with disabled people and their representative organisations to promote their inclusion in all aspects of society. By placing experienced professional development workers within local partner organisations, we provide local organisations with three main types of support;
1. Management training to strengthen the capacity of organisations with a view to them becoming become self-sustainable.
2. Training in networking and advocacy so that organisations can become actors of change at legislative and policy level
3. Provision of grant support to harness income generating activities, so that people with disabilities can play an active part in their community and improve the quality of their lives.
