The Global Border Studies (GBS) is looking for a dynamic teacher / coordinator and a volunteer teacher for 10 months starting in March 2009.

GBS is a distance learning programme based at Nu Po refugee camp on the border between Thailand and Burma. The programme has been developed in partnership between staff from Dundalk Institute of Technology, Ireland and The Karen Refugee Community Education Entity, Thailand.

We will recruit 15 exceptional students from the border area for a 2 year intensive immersion environment, which will explore issues ethnicity, ethnic conflict and borders and prepare students to be effective leaders in their community. After the 2 year academic program, students are required to work in their communities for one year.
