Suas is currently seeking to recruit Coordinators to work as part of the Programme Management Team on the 2012 Volunteer Programme. The Coordinator role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable leadership and management experience in a challenging overseas environment, working alongside dynamic and inspirational local partner organisations. Coordinators support and lead teams of volunteers through the duration of the programme, and are involved with the design and delivery of the programme,  which includes a well-developed training and learning phase, a 12 week overseas placement from June to August (in India or Kenya) and a close-out on return to Dublin.

Lámha Suas is a new Irish based organisation dedicated to supporting education in the Mubende district of Uganda. They work closely with the Ugandan Ministry of Education to provide support to a number of government schools in the Mubende district of Uganda.

Support is provided by sending qualified Irish teachers to work alongside Ugandan teachers on short-term volunteering placements; funding long-term programmes such as school feeding, improvement of school infrastructure and a teacher scholarship fund. They also support the wider community by recruiting nurses to work in the local health clinics on short-term volunteering placements and also supplying medical equipment.

Working in Romania since 1990, the Comber Foundation supports adults with intellectual and physical disabilities to leave institutional care and move into new homes in the community.

Suas seeks 13 Team Coordinators who will lead Suas Volunteer teams through the 2012 Volunteer Programme.

The Coordinator role provides a unique opportunity to be part of the organisation's vision and to gain valuable leadership and team management skills while working in partnership with dynamic, local organisations in India and Kenya.

Coordinators will be involved in the design and delivery of the Programme from January through to June before going overseas for 12 weeks. This is a voluntary role - training, overseas expenses and a stipend are provided.
