Are you thinking of volunteering overseas in a development context? Are you a returned volunteer who wants to find out more? Or are you keen to learn more about development issues? UCD Development Library is open to the general public.

Established in 1987 and located in the James Joyce Library building at UCD, Belfield, the Library is open to members of the development community and the public.  Funded by Irish Aid and UCD, it is one of the country’s primary sources of development research materials and provides specialist support to anyone with an interest in researching development issues. New Projects in Guatemala are looking for Community Development and Health Volunteers
3 new local projects in Guatemala are looking for international volunteers:

1- Health and HIV Education with a Community Project in Zaragosa
A small organisation in Zaragoza, (2 hours west from Guatemala city) is looking for volunteers to help with their education and health programme.  They work on HIV prevention and STD awareness with high school teenagers and youth groups. They also have a small health centre.

2- Medical work in a Community Health Center in Santa Maria
The community health center in Santa Maria (40 minutes from Antigua) is looking for volunteers with a medical background (doctors, nurses, lab technicians, public health) to help with their community health programmes.

Irish development NGO Foundation Nepal is running an exciting new photographic exhibition in Dublin city centre during November. The exhibition is a colourful celebration of life in Nepal as seen through the eyes of development workers, an Irish NGO, locals, professional photographers and trekkers.

Over 45 photographs will be on display from 23 professional and amateur photographers, including new work by the renowned American fine art documentary photographer Kevin Bubriski.
