Viatores Christi is recruiting lay missionary development workers for projects which deal with a range of social and justice issues throughout the world including AIDS/HIV projects, displaced peoples, healthcare, intellectual disability, education and indigenous peoples. We need people from all disciplines, from teachers to electricians, doctors to administrators, farmers to childcare workers. International Service Ireland (ISI) will soon contract four development workers to work closely with the Bolivian Institute of the Blind (IBC) over the next three years (2010-2013). ISI primarily works with disabled people and their representative organisations to promote their inclusion in all aspects of society.

21-23 May, Cork. This residential weekend will offer an opportunity to meet, relax and have some fun while sharing tips on readjusting to the 'culture shock' of being home. There is space to reflect on the meaning of your experiences for you personally, and to look at planning how you can put them to use as you move forward. The cost of the weekend is €50 to people who have been overseas in a development capacity for longer than three months. The weekend will be facilitated by other returned development workers, supported by Comhlámh staff.
