Viatores Christi is a faith-based volunteer association which recruits, trains and places people who would like to volunteer overseas as lay missionaries for periods of one year or more. We do not run our own projects but instead place our trained volunteers on projects run by our mission partners. We offer full support to our volunteers while they are on assignment.
Viatores Christi provides a training programme to prepare people for life as a volunteer in an overseas context. It is of vital importance that volunteers are well prepared; this helps ensure that they can remain committed to the challenges of living and working overseas. Our training programme consists of six workshop weekends, one per month for six consecutive months – the next one commences in September 2012. The workshop weekend runs from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. As Viatores Christi has a Catholic ethos, certain parts of each workshop are of a faith dimension, including Mass. There is also a workshop dedicated to the exploration of ‘Mission’. For further details of the training programme click here
